TOOLS FOR LEARNING: The Chelsea Foundation uses tested literacy tools which have been designed around Georgia's school curriculum to help teachers create interest and learning and to advance students' involvement.

Chelsea's Beacon, a children's newspaper filled with appropriate material for first-through-fifth-grade students that offers many beneficial methods, formats, and outlets that promote the written word. We use only writings submitted through a national volunteer effort of skilled professional and amateur writers.

Classroom Beat, a day planner for each child that can be used as a day-to-day journal throughout the school year. The journals will help students set realistic goals and guide them in their efforts to achieve these goals. The journal gives teachers a practical as well as lively and fun method to help children take greater control over their own lives in and outside the classroom.

MISSION: The Chelsea Foundation's mission is to give children motivational tools that encourage literacy, stimulate creative thinking and reward effort. These tools will help our children become successful students and lead lives that are more productive.

FOUNDATION BACKGROUND:
The Chelsea foundation is supported by officers, advisers, and a member board composed of prominent businessmen, teachers, entrepreneurs, graphic artists, writers, and other talented people. For a complete list of names and positions log on to: www.chelseafoundation.org

VOLUNTEER: Chelsea needs volunteers of all ages to help encourage children's literacy. Your help in both time and monetary donations will help get Chelsea’s Beacon circulating throughout Georgia. This program factors at a $2.50 per child cost for the entire year. The Chelsea Foundation is staffed by volunteers none receive compensation for their labors. Our legal stewards have applied for the Foundation’s non-profit status with the IRS. Once in place we will begin to raise the needed funds to pay for a monthly copy of Chelsea’s Beacon for every elementary age child. Chelsea calls for everyone to find their best way to help children become motivated and soar into a brighter future.

BRINGING CHELSEA TO YOUR SCHOOL: Make a buzz in your school. If you would like to have this amazing program in your school or your child’s school contact Kathleen O'Malley Brown through: chelseafoundation15@yahoo.com.
